Every Brilliant Thing

Finding joy in life’s intricacies

By Duncan Macmillan with Johnny Donahoe

October 7–18, 2020

What do you do when you’re seven and mum finds it hard to be happy? Start making a list—ice cream, water fights, rollercoasters—a reminder to her of every brilliant thing worth living for. And then never stop adding to it. #315 The smell of old books. #994 Hairdressers who listen to what you want. #2000 Coffee. #9996 Sex. This unusually funny show about depression and love lets the list take on a life of its own.

“Possibly one of the funniest shows you’ll ever see” —The Guardian

The Cull

Secrets come to light and relationships unravel in this new dinner party drama

An Arts Club Silver Commission

By Michele Riml and Michael St. John Smith

January 13–23, 2021

While a forest fire rages out of control in the local mountains, a group of close friends gather for an anniversary celebration. When an unexpected gift turns a civil conversation about the local wolf cull into a fierce personal argument, a secret is revealed that threatens the stability of the “pack”—turning this particular dinner party into a night of eat or be eaten.

The Birds & the Bees

Rib-tickling realizations about life and love

By Mark Crawford

February 24–March 6, 2021

Sarah, a turkey farmer, has split up with her husband and moved in with her mom, Gail, a beekeeper. Add in Earl, the flirty neighbour, and Ben, an eager young graduate student, and you have the perfect breeding ground for unlikely attractions. Set in adjoining bedrooms, The Birds & the Bees is a Canadian comedy about love, lust, beekeeping, and the artificial insemination of turkeys.

“What could be better therapy than an old-fashioned, knee-slapping, rip-roaring sex comedy?” —The Vancouver Sun

Audience Advisory: All shows include strong language and mature themes. The Birds & the Bees contains partial nudity and depictions of sexuality. Theatrical devices such as water-based stage fog, and strobe lighting may occur. Programming, casting, dates, and prices are subject to change. Prices include taxes and facility fees.
