Surrey, BC – The City of Surrey announced today the full lineup of performers and attractions at its annual free Canada Day event on Saturday, July 1 at Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre. Reggae-fusion group Magic! will support acclaimed Canadian pop-rock headliners Hedley in celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday.

Presented by Coast Capital Savings, this year’s family friendly celebration—which marks Canada’s 150th birthday—will be the largest Canada Day event in Western Canada with attendance expected to surpass 100,000 people.

“In honour of Canada 150, Surrey is celebrating the best of our country and this year’s Canada Day festivities and concert will be bigger than ever,” said Mayor Linda Hepner. “We are proud to offer the ultimate free party on Canada’s historic birthday with a variety of opportunities for our residents and visitors to connect with our past and celebrate our future.”

New to the event is the Canada 150 Zone—featuring a Canadian pavilion showcasing the country’s indigenous heritage and Francophone communities—and a free zipline. In addition, the event will offer amusement rides, over 100 exhibitors, kids world, a sports zone and trampoline performers. Other musical guests include Chilliwack, Good for Grapes, One More Girl and DJ Flipout.

“Coast Capital Savings’ community activities support youth, and family Canada Day events such as this are a great example of that, especially this year as our country celebrates a landmark birthday,” said Wendy Lachance, Director, Community Leadership. “We are excited to help bring the community together through a celebration of our rich cultural diversity, our proud history, and our shared heritage.”

Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre is located at 176 Street and 64 Avenue in Cloverdale. Doors open at 10am with the fireworks finale at 10:30pm. Learn more at
